It was a journey, fueled by God’s word, that brought the Weihe family to Christ Lincoln Schools Elementary. Their children were attending a different school in the Lincoln community, when they began to watch a future unfold that did not look like what they wanted for their children. What they saw and what they were hearing was in contrast to what they valued and believed in. So they prayed, watched, and listened to what was happening around them and felt God’s calling to choose something different. About five days before the school year started, they visited Christ Lincoln Schools and knew it was exactly where they needed their children to be.
Their journey so far has been amazing! They feel blessed by the teachers and staff and value the open communication and dedication to the needs of their children. They have found trust and commitment in the leadership and confidence in what the school is doing to help their children grow both academically and in God’s Word. It’s thrilling to see their kids coming home and quoting scripture, singing worship songs, and sharing faith teachings that they have learned throughout the week. The fact that God is now part of their children’s education has also challenged them, as parents, to spend more time in the Word and to grow closer to God.
The Weihes are thankful to be surrounded by a community of families who are committed to Christ. They are developing close bonds with families who share in this season of life and are grateful for the collective experiences they are enjoying through sports, school activities, and events. And their journey is just beginning, as they have three more kids yet to come to elementary school and lots of great Lutheran Schools of Lincoln education to come!
