It is typical for middle school students to have a dip in confidence as they face this transitional time. They are dealing with different classroom schedules, shifts in friendships and finding where they “fit” in a new environment. Faculty at Lincoln Lutheran are committed to helping students through this change by emphasizing academic achievement, physical activity, social and emotional intelligence and open communication with parents.

At Lincoln Lutheran, EVERY 7th and 8th student is matched to a mentor with similar interests and personality. “Every Middle Schooler should have someone in their corner,” says Sean Wieting, 6th grade teacher at Lincoln Lutheran. “And that’s why Warrior Walk was created.” The Lincoln Lutheran program is modeled off of the TEAMMATES mentoring program.
